Your idea

Whether you require a cabinet, table, mantelpiece, sweeping staircase or entire yacht interior, the process starts with a conversation about your ideas, your budget and your timescales. I like to work closely with my clients and understand the environment where the item will live, so I usually suggest a face-to-face meeting.

Your design

You may already have a design for me to work from, which I’m more than happy to do. Or you may ask me to work with you to interpret your ideas and create the design. In both instances I will provide expert guidance and advice as well as samples for materials and finishes. I encourage my clients to be as involved as possible, after all, the piece is likely to be a significant investment and an item to be treasured. If I’m working on the design, then this will be an iterative process and once the design is approved and materials selected I will provide an accurate quotation.

Your creation

There is no job that is too big or too small and I pride myself on never taking on too much work so that clients have to wait for extended periods for their finished item. This is something I’m very conscious of and endeavour to manage carefully. I believe that communication is key and encourage you to check in on progress or arrange to visit the workshop to see the construction as it evolves. I’ll also happily liaise with architects and project managers to ensure I meet their crucial timescales.

Your budget

Once you have agreed the quotation, I will strictly adhere to it. If I end up spending more time on your project because of my ludicrous attention to detail and penchant for using tools from the last century, then that’s at my cost, not yours. Prices for projects vary immensely depending on materials, finish and the complexity of the project. I’ve included some examples below as a guide. But in all cases I will ask for a deposit before any work commences.
